We hoped to stay at the Cedar Rail RV park at Raton Pass, but they had closed for the season just 2 days earlier. The facilities are adequate, but tight for big rigs. The metal posts intended to prevent damage to the sewer connections made it difficult to place our rig so that the slides could be utilized. Internet and cable services worked fine. The noise from nearby highways was not noticeable inside the RV. We did not check the laundry since we only stayed overnight. The owner instructed us to disconnect our water connection during the night as temperatures were predicted to be in the 30s. We have a well insulated water system that has worked for us in temperatures as low as 10F. The park's water line is not protected for low temperatures. While the mandate was not a huge inconvenience, we think parks that advertise themselves to be open year round should make adequate provisions to do so - especially with the rate charged. The park is overpriced for the very basic amenities offered. We would only stay here again in a pinch.

The park staff was excellent, especially when a terrible wet snow hit during the night. Those lovely 200 trees were dropping huge branches all over the park and power outages plagued the entire community for about 24 hrs. RV's were moving to any area that didn't have huge branches looming over them. When daylight arrived, the park staff worked like crazy to clear branches from the roadways and accommodate folks as best they could. Aside from that catastrophe, our review is that the park is well-kept and offers great facilities. Our beef with this park and others like it, is the unfair extra charge for kids, especially in an off season when the pool is closed. We know that our kids don't cost these parks more and the policy of charging extra penalizes families. Another negative for this park is the hunters that were carving up their kills on site, including piling deer carcasses on the very nice picnic tables. We did not enjoy the view of deer carcasses hanging from the trees and wouldn't use those picnic tables: ever! The road construction is awful, but the construction crew moved cones and barrels to assist our entrance to the park. From the looks of it, the construction may still be present next spring. We'd suggest calling the park to ask about the entrance. With all the cones and closed driveways, it was extremely difficult to see the entrance to the campground.

The staff is excellent. The quoted rate is based on a weekly rate. We were placed in the middle row in the older (front) section of the park. Residents were parked awkwardly, making our entry really tight. The escort did an excellent job of helping us through the tight spots. Because the park wasn't crowded at this time of year, we were able to have two spaces. We parked the 5th wheel in one and the truck next to it. We can not imagine being parked in this space with a neighbor. We would not be able to open our slides, much less the awning! The facilities were fine and everything worked even with 12" of snow during our stay. Wi-Fi, water connections and electric were all in working order throughout the very cold weather. The restrooms were clean and the laundry was large, clean and very reasonable ($1.25 for wash, $1.00 for dryer). We would stay here again, but only if we could be in the more spacious first row sites.

The facilities were excellent: easy access for a big rig, cable and internet worked well, clean bath house and laundry facilities. The rate quoted reflects a 50% discount through CampClubUSA. The owners are very gracious people and went out of their way to be helpful. The only reason we cannot rate the facility with a '10' is due to the limited access to restroom/shower facilities. Only one per gender was available during our stay. While we understand the need to winterize the campground, there were several occasions that the wait in line for the facilities was very inconvenient.

We found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. The rules are posted everywhere and are fair. The owners obviously have a lot of experience and keep the campground in good shape for their current and future guests. We were in the front row and were able to access the Wi-Fi. The price is a little high, especially if the pool is closed. We were able to use it once before the closing after Labor Day weekend. The sites vary in size and utilities, but seem to be reserved specifically for the size of your unit and needs. The grounds are pleasant and well maintained with lots of mature trees. The bathrooms/showers were very clean as were the laundry facilities. We would stay here again.

The rate shown is based on a weekly rate with the extra charges for 2 kids. We had to watch carefully when pulling out due to the trees. We had no problem with neighbor awnings, but we were parked at the end of a row with only one neighbor. The park was very full due to a nearby Good Sams event and a home game for University of Missouri. We were pleasantly surprised that it was not noisy. The restrooms and laundry facilities were very clean. We enjoyed the chiminea and picnic tables that were provided. We had some problems with the WiFi connection, but it was stormy during our stay. We would stay here again.

The rate quoted reflects a Camp Club USA discount which is good for one night only. The site was not very level. We didn't use the laundry facilities, but the restroom facilities were very clean. There were lots of full time residents in the back in spaces around the border of the park. The grounds are very spacious and green, but the grassy areas are very uneven. Be sure to have a flashlight to make the trip to the restroom facilities after dark! There is a small pond area, but it was almost dry. We had trouble with the WiFi connection and our air card didn't work well either. We would stay here again.

We were greeted by a very rude lady that complained about our discount. We used Camp Club USA which was 1/2 price for one night. We had requested a pull through site and were assigned a back in at the rear of the grounds with a row of full time residents. The bathroom/shower facilities were spartan and were not clean. The park didn't provide any hand soap or anything to dry hands. The pull through sites were very long and there were plenty of vacant spots during our stay. The park staff/owner apparently has a grudge about CCUSA members. Our site had a bit of gravel that was mostly overgrown by grass and was not level. The internet was fine. The facility is overpriced for the amenities offered. The heated pool was closed - even at the beginning of September. The owner indicated that she will no longer participate in CCUSA. We would not have known about her park without CCUSA and will most definitely not stay at this park again.

This park is not very well kept and has many full time residents. Trash was everywhere and the roads were terrible. We would rate the park a '3' if it were not for the shared pool with the Days Inn. Our kids had a blast and the pool facilities are well kept. The Wi-Fi reception was terrible from the park so we took our laptop to the pool in the Days Inn. We would not stay here again.

The rate quoted is with a Camp Club USA discount. We used one of three sites with a 50amp hookup. Like other reviewers, we did not notice the highway noise when inside the RV. The restroom facilities are very clean. The laundry room floor was not clean, so we had to take care to not drop any of our freshly washed items! The Wi-Fi worked well and we had no problem parking our 40+ 5th wheel. We would stay here again: especially with the discount!

Although a little inconvenient for just one night, we found this park to be very pleasant and worth the trouble to find. Due to other comments, we called ahead to find out our site number. We then checked in at the off-sight office after unhitching the 5th wheel. The restrooms and laundry facilities were immaculate. The Wi-Fi worked fine and the paved pull through sites were long enough for any big rig. We would definitely stay here again.

This park is OK for a one night stop. Gravel pads are long enough for a big rig, but narrow. The park has a steep entrance off the highway, but an easier drive is on the side street. There is no office. Upon arrival, you complete an envelope and place payment into a slotted container. We had some difficulty with some deep, loose gravel and nearly got stuck when trying to find a level spot within the space. The bathhouse is old and was not very clean. We didn't use the laundry facility. We tried to use our air card for internet access and had little luck. TV reception with an antenna was also very spotty. We would stay here again for an overnight stop.

The park is very attractive with lots of large trees and well maintained grass between sites and along driveways through the park. The park is quiet, but there's quite a bit of road noise and a nearby train. We were not charged for our site due to a bee infestation in an adjacent tree. The staff was surprised when we arrived as someone was supposed to notify us of the bee problem and cancel. We were also told there were no other sites in the park available, although several sites were vacant during our stay. The tree wasn't that close to the RV and we had no other place to stay, so we were allowed to stay and were not charged. The restroom, laundry and shower facilities were old, but clean. Maneuvering the driveways was a bit tight for a big rig. We used an air card for internet access, so we didn't miss Wi-Fi.

The route from the eastbound interstate was confusing and there were no signs directing us. We had no sewer hookup, but the site was fairly level, easy to access even with lots of large trees and provided lots of welcome privacy. The nearby river is beautiful, but the traffic noise from the interstate was very loud. The restroom, shower and laundry facilities were clean. The showers charged about $1 for 10 minutes or so. Most of the exterior sites are occupied by full time residents, but all were well kept. We felt the rate was a little high for a site without sewer hookup or internet service, but we would stay here again.

The park is pretty noisy with the interstate on one side and a busy road on the other. The access driveway is pretty tight for a bigger rig to maneuver. The manager/owner is very helpful and guided us to our spot just fine. Two rigs are assigned to each pull through, one behind the other and the sites are arranged so that entry doors are facing one another. Nice trees and grass are on most sites. The internet connection worked fairly well. The showers, restrooms and laundry facilities were worn but clean. Bicycle enthusiasts will be pleased with access to Trail of the Coeur D'Alenes within a few blocks and Hiawatha Trail within a few miles. The manager was very helpful with information for the Idaho sites and also Yellowstone National Park. The rate shown reflects a Good Sams discount.

Nice facility with easy access to Yellowstone. The river was nice, but we didn't see much of it. Our site was adjacent to the entrance and very close to the highway. As others have mentioned, the road noise is greatly reduced at night, but during the day it was very bothersome. The laundry, showers and restrooms were spotless. We had a few problems with internet reception. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had no problem with our pull-through site, but some might be difficult for big rigs.

We used an Escapees discount for our stay. The spaces are all on grass and very tight for big rigs. The lakefront sites are taken by regulars and/or seasonals, but we had a narrow view of the lake from the pull-throughs. The bath house is old, but clean and the owners and staff are very friendly. We enjoyed the lake setting and the kids had a great time during our stay. We might not stay here again due to the tight maneuvering for our big rig.

This was not as convenient to the interstate as we had hoped, but it worked for an overnight stop. The driveways and pads for parking were not paved. With the wind blowing, it was very dusty and hard to keep dirt from blowing into the RV. The sites were fairly level and accessible for big rigs. The bath house was older, but clean. We didn't use the laundry facility, but it looked clean also. The internet Wi-Fi connection worked well.

Although the park was right next to the interstate, we did not hear traffic noise. The large trees provide a nice visual and noise barrier. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The park does not have internet service and our air card did not work consistently. There also was not a laundry facility. Maneuvering our big rig was a bit tight, but the space was level and roomy when parked. The restrooms and showers were clean and the on-site store offered many conveniences as well as fuel. We would stay here again.

This park is easy to access from the interstate and good for an overnight stop. The facilities were very clean. The pads are gravel, pretty level and roomy for big rigs. The Wi-Fi connection worked well for us.

The back-in site was very difficult for us to maneuver and was not level. The driveway was too narrow and with the large bus across the way from our site prevented an easy back-in maneuver. The site itself could not be called 'paved' as it had very little gravel in the area intended for the RV. The sites near the bay are maintained a bit better, but some would be difficult for big rigs. We happened to arrive during a week when an annual Indian canoe trek was scheduled to stop at the park. The canoes were only at the location for overnight, but apparently many tent campers meet the travelers. The tent campers stayed for the whole week. When we checked in, we received a notice of the event and forewarning that the campers could be rowdy. We were not pleased with the environment created when several of these campers took over the building with the restrooms and showers with gang-like behavior and appearance. We didn't allow our kids to go to the restroom facilities after dark. We don't expect to pay the rate charged and deal with this. The notice told us to be patient and realize the RV staff would have limited abilities to impact negative behaviors of the tent campers. After the tent campers left, the atmosphere was much better and we enjoyed walking along the bay. There are a lot of full time residents in old run-down campers and piles of junk. The tides vary quite a bit and waterfront sites have a lot of mud and the associated smells at low tide. The facility is overpriced considering the amenities and apparently survives based on location alone. The laundry facilities were too dirty for our use. During the period when the tent campers were on-site, the restrooms and showers were in terrible condition. The internet service worked well. We would check other parks in the area before staying here again.

The park is older, but kept up reasonably well. The sites are level, paved and easy to access even with a long rig like ours (40'+ bike rack). The restroom, shower and laundry facilities were clean. One full time resident became agitated with us for using more than 2 washers. We wanted to wash 3 loads. There are 6 washers available and no one was using any of them when we arrived. There was a posted sign requesting users to please use 2 washers, but we didn't take the sign as a rule but rather a request to be considerate of others. We didn't push the issue and waited to load our 3rd washer until after moving the other loads along. We enjoyed the walking trail that encircles the park with a canal on the other side. The location allowed us to travel to Portland, Columbia River Scenic Highway, Astoria, Mount St. Helens and Ape Cave during our stay. The rate reflects the weekly rate adjusted for $4 added daily for 2 dogs and 2 kids. The internet connection worked well. The park was quiet. We would suggest requesting the exterior pull through row.

This rate was with a CampClub USA discount applied. This is a no frills facility with a large percentage of residents. We found it quiet but several large dogs were out from time to time (pit bull type). Their owners were accompanying them (not necessarily with a leash), but we were still uncomfortable. The showers and laundry facility were clean. The showers required a few quarters. Parking was a little tight for our 45' 5th wheel. The internet connection was fine.

The rate includes the $5 per child per night fee that KOA typically charges. The campsites and entry to the park are not big rig friendly. After investing 30 minutes maneuvering into our site, our 5th wheel had only inches between trees, tree branches and the utility post. The office/camp store staff was made up of young folk that for the most part didn't know much. They were moderately friendly to us, but several folk mentioned rude treatment. While we like friendly people, our rating is influenced by value for the dollar. This is the most expensive park we've used except for WDW Fort Wilderness. Apparently, they are able to keep these exhorbitant prices due to the proximity to San Franscisco. The park has a long way to go to justify the prices. Whereas WDW also has expensive prices, the sites are or have been upgraded to fit the larger RVs and the restroom/shower facilities were immaculate. This KOA swimming pool was nasty with dirty diapers/swim pants left on the pool deck. The restroom/shower facilities are very old. Our kids did enjoy visiting the petting farm which had five new baby goats. We also scheduled the tour of S.F., which was pricey but the guide was excellent. Internet access worked fine. We did not use the laundry facilities due to overcrowding. We were barraged by irritating, loud, repetitive music from the arcade every night. The machines were apparently turned off for quiet hours, but we couldn't wait to get away from the noise. The rec hall also had some type of kareoke night with the volume pumped up like a rock concert. We did not enjoy listening to everyone that participated and were not able to listen to our own music or TV in our RV. We will not stay here again, even if it means we must drive further to visit S.F.

The rate reflects a Good Sams discount. The site was long enough, but we had to park out of the shade to miss the furnished concrete table and bench. The sites offer a lot of privacy due to the landscape, but also no view. We only had a view of the restroom building. Even the waterfront sites do not have a view of the river due to the tall shrubs. We had trouble walking around our unit with the slides out due to the tight fit in the shrubs. The pool was clean, but tiny. The restrooms/showers and laundry room were all spotless. We had no problem with the Internet service. We would stay at this park again, but would try to choose a site with less obstructive shrubbery.

The facilities are clean, but there are a limited number of showers. There is a great laundry room, although we didn't use. Internet access worked well. It is about 15 miles to a grocery store. The store on-site had a fairly good selection of items. There is a nicely fenced pet area, but not a single blade of grass to be found. There is easy access for big rigs.

The park was preparing for summer season when we stayed here. The pool was closed down for some extensive work, and a major plumbing project was going on. The entrance was 'big rig' friendly, but the pull-through sites were not really pull-through. We were told to exit by turning 90 degrees out of our site and then to make another 90 degree turn between a row of tightly packed park models. We were at the park for over a week and watched every motor home and large fifth wheel back out into some empty spaces to exit. Because the park wasn't crowded, this worked out. If they're booked up, I don't know how the big rigs will get in or out of the pull-through sites. The laundry facility was the largest we've seen but not the cleanest - just o.k. The recreation room was beautiful with large fireplace and had a really large porch that we enjoyed for a change of scenery. The closest grocery is in Flagstaff, about 15 miles north.

We stayed for several nights as we made day trips to see Monterey and Big Sur. The facilities are old and the restrooms need an update. Some of the spaces are big rig friendly, but many are not due to low branches. The road and pads are gravel with lots of stickers and dead grass. The swimming pool was in great shape but the water was icy cold. We liked the quiet and the rate. We would stay again for an overnight. The campground would not accept membership discount, but provided their own 10% discount authorized by the new owners. Our GPS recognized the address if the Gustine was entered as the city.

Our Good Sam's discount offset the 10% tax, so the rate quoted is the amount we paid with the discount applied. The resort promotes free golf, but utilizing the discount negated that offer. The facility is beautifully landscaped with immaculate pool, hot tub, restrooms and showers. The environment is not kid-friendly with rules such as no foreign objects in the pool area. While friendly enough, the regulars and some staff have the run of the pool area with nightly gatherings in the adjoining meeting room and their pets roaming free in the pool area. The laundry facililty is very reasonably priced and one of the cleanest we've seen. An odd request is posted to use only one machine at a time (there are three sets of washers and dryers). The angle of the pull through sites is difficult for big rigs, but manageable.

Immaculate restroom, shower and laundry facilities. Roomy sites for big rigs with super easy turns in and out. Internet access worked well. Indoor heated swimming pool and spa located across the street at the hotel (but readily shared with RV guests) was not as clean as we like to see. The kennel was handy for our dogs to stay while we made a long day trip to the Grand Canyon. Dog walk areas (and everything on-site) were gravel - not a blade of grass anywhere.

Immaculate facilities (restrooms, showers and laundry room). Loved the pool and hot tub. Internet access worked flawlessly with strong signal. Friendly staff, nice restaurant on-site and fresh cookies every day at 3:00 pm in the store. Yum! Roomy sites - paved with healthy grass between.

Adequate for big rigs if the park is fairly unoccupied. We parked on an end site with exit to a driveway through the park and were fine. Bathhouse and laundry were clean but very old. The pool had not yet opened for the spring/summer. Breakfast was good and plentiful for a very cheap price. In our opinion, if the KOA's are going to charge extra for kids, they need extra entertainment options for them. If some options are closed for the season, then reduce the price accordingly. The owners were hands on managers and were friendly. Wi-Fi was fine with good reception.

The park is convenient to I-40 but the access is very confusing. Access is adequate for big rigs, but some difficult maneuvering may be required to exit the rows. A roomy fenced dog run was available but typical of several desert locations, had not a blade of grass. We would stay again for an overnight stop.

You couldn't get more big rig friendly - long gravel sites with plenty of width. Two fenced dog parks in great condition and really nice bath houses. The laundry facility was very clean and large. On-site BBQ and breakfast was good and moderately priced. Being at least 15 miles from grocers, it was nice to have the option of purchasing meals. Wi-Fi was fine. We object to KOA charging extra for the kids, but limiting their participation in recreation activities. They were prohibited from using the hot tub and the swimming pool was icy in spite of being promoted as solar heated with extremely limited hours for use. We tried to ride our bikes, but the large gravel used for pavement made it really tough. We did enjoy the quiet and watching the many rabbits and roadrunners around the park.

Stayed in the Council Bluff area. Took forever to back in to our site with assistance from about 3 other campers. Sites are narrow and at difficult angles for backing big rigs. A few are much easier, but sites are first come - first serve. The bath house is very old but we drove to another park area for newer and cleaner facilities. We would stay again, if we could verify that the few big rig friendly sites were not occupied. The rate we paid was for camping only, we have an annual pass for individual admission fees. No laundry facilities within 20 miles or so. A couple of convenience stores are on the park road with a few basic food items/supplies.

This park would get a '10' if the sites were built up enough to keep the RVs out of the water. We were fortunate to have the only site on our row with enough elevation. All the other sites in our row had at least 6 inches of standing water after a rain. The fenced dog park is good and pool was clean and warm (for March rainy days). The mini-golf and rec room were great. The bath house and laundry were clean and in good shape. The Continental breakfast was a store bought pastry item that could be purchased at any convenience store and quantity was limited to one per person. It was no charge, but still - this doesn't meet my definition of 'continental breakfast'. The WIFI worked fine and the location was fairly convenient to Pensacola attractions. The park staff and hosts were very friendly.

Big rig access is a little iffy depending on the location and how full the park is. We had to pull through one site to get to our assigned one. The sites are paved, but turning radius is not fully paved for big rigs. We were hard pressed to park truck at either end of 5th wheel. The price is great and we were given two free breakfast buffets for the casino. The buffet was the largest and best quality food we've seen. Shower facilities were clean, but limited in number. WIFI worked well. We would definitely stay again.

For the price, the park was good. There was not enough crushed shell material at our site. We almost got stuck backing in and asked the park management to bring in extra material so that we wouldn't get stuck pulling out. Only sand was brought in, so sure enough - we got stuck. Friendly park neighbors helped us out quickly (makes me think this is a common occurrence?). LOTS of full time or at least full winter residents. We must have met the bad apples the one day we did laundry in the laundry room - definitely grumpy, rude and filled the laundry room with cigarette smoke! Pool was great, dogs were welcome. Internet worked fine and shower facilities kept clean. On-site grill was terrific with reasonably priced food that was plentiful and really great. We didn't play golf, but the course looked well-kept and rates were more than reasonable. Inconvenient to town - a nearby convenience store had most of what we needed, but a trip of over 15 miles was necessary to restock pantry and fridge. Narrow two lane highway (Hwy 80 )with no shoulder and lots of traffic. Met a new manager on our next to last day - maybe they'll address the site improvements that are needed to keep people from getting stuck?

Excellent value in a very scenic, peaceful spot. Nothing is paved, so we had anxious moments pulling in along sandy roads. We also studied the sites carefully to choose a spot large enough for us. There are a few sites that will accommodate big rigs, but the lovely trees make access a challenge. Recently acquired by the county, we felt they did a good job of operating the facility. The large indoor pool was exceptional and the spring is lush and a treat to see. The bath house was old, but clean. Laundry facilities were housed under a covered porch and were very old as well. We would stay again, after checking on number of sites available for big rigs.

We loved staying at the Fort Wilderness campground. The only reason to not make this a 10 rating is because we had such a hard time backing in. The site itself is large enough, the problem was the site across from us was too close to maneuver our fifth wheel AND their car was parked in front of their rig. If we could have located them to move the car just for our backing in, we would have made it fine. Once in our site, we had no problems opening awnings, picnic table and parking our vehicle within our site. The bath house and laundry facility were very clean, access to buses and boat transportation was great (loop 400). The pool was under renovation, but it was pretty cold for a swim anyway. We've stayed at the Disney resorts on previous visits and paid $200-300 per night. The campground is a bargain compared to that. As for the expense of grocery items, etc. - you are still at Disney where everything is exorbitantly priced. Groceries can be purchased off-site for more reasonable prices. The fenced dog park was terrific and we also used the on-site kennels so that we could enjoy the parks all day without worries for our pets. The staff were terrific and dogs were well-cared for. We did not use Disney's WIFI nor did we watch much TV. The petting farm is no longer at the campground, but has moved to Animal Kingdom where you would have to use your park admission to see - we were a little bummed about that. Otherwise - take plenty of cash and have a great time - you're at Disney World!

We stayed for about a week to visit the area and Kennedy Space Center. It is n ot truly big rig friendly in our opinion. the pet policy is bizarre. We were placed near the front of the grounds, so we could walk our dogs across the driveway to the dog walk area. This was actually kind of pleasant, around a pond with a fountain. We thought it pricey for the quality of the facility, but we also had great difficulty finding openings anywhere at that time of year. There are lots of full time residents, but they were very friendly to our family and our boys enjoyed the pool. We all participated in the weekend breakfast and had a great time. We will look for a different place if we return to the area - primarily because of the pet policy and tight access for our 5th wheel. Internet access worked fine and we didn't miss the cable as we had plenty of sight seeing to do and antenna access offered the little TV we wanted.

OK for big rigs, but the spaces are very narrow (as in, awnings and slides practically touching each other). The photos on the website are taken on the park behind the office. There are a handful of spaces between the office and the highway. We were assigned one of those spaces even though we had reserved over 2 weeks in advance. When we saw the contrast, the likely road noise, the inconvenience for the bath house or laundry facilities, and complete void of wooded ambience, we requested either a further reduced rate or to be relocated. We were relocated to another site that was much more tolerable. The sites were not paved and would have been a real mess with much more rain than we experienced. We were there in winter, so no there was opportunity to use the pool. The open grassy area was good for walking our dogs, but we had to pick our way past several areas left by other dogs without owners picking up. We'd love to encourage all park owners to strictly enforce leash and poop pickup by guests to assure that the park remains pleasant for everyone - even other dog owners! Restroom facilities were moderately clean and the laundry room was good.

It has dirt and gravel sites. There is adequate room for a big rig, depending on the specific location. The bathhouse is clean, but very old as is the laundry facility. It is the best of the offerings in the area, but a shame to charge so much for facilities in desperate need of an upgrade. Our rate reflects the KOA membership and the 'stay 6 nights, get one free', but also the extra charge for our 2 kids. Internet access is spotty. We will stay here again, but only because they are the only facility in the community and we have family in town.
